On the Road with Julie

In November of 2023, I hit the road in our Dodge Promaster Camper Van to put pen to paper and note to staff to complete a first draft of a musical that I started writing in 1999 as a sophomore in college. When I left school, I thought I had left the musical behind me, but the musical never left me. It stayed alive in my mind and, over the course of 25 years, the songs and story had insisted on taking shape in my mind. It took me 2.5 decades to realize how much it meant to me to finish it and how much of my self and my life I wanted to give to the task. So, the musical that I had written in my head was ready to get down on paper. I knew I needed 6 weeks alone, on the road to do it. And that’s what I did. Travel along the way with me here!
